After filing the e-return in Karnataka VAT return, again we need to send hard copy to the department

yes. you have to submit the vat filed generate copy only. not whole vat return by hard copy.

As per notification, the e-filed VAT returns need to sumbit by hard copy as follows
April- Sep Returns need to submit with in 31st Oct
Oct- March return need to submit with in 30th April
April- Sep Returns need to submit with in 31st Oct
Oct- March return need to submit with in 30th April
