Job work on gold jewelelry

15 April 2015 1) ABC company issues gold and diamond to XYZ company. XYZ company manufacture jewellery/ornaments and return this to ABC Company and charges its labour charges.
Is such type of jobwork shall attaract service tax. if yes, rate of service tax. if no why.



2) Is excise duty is levied on manufacturing of unbranded jewellery of gold.

15 April 2015 1) This job work is a manufacturing process under excise, hence service tax will not be applicable on the same.

2)At present excise duty is not levied on manufacturing of unbranded jewellery.
