12 November 2011 Dear,

Jute Twine is manufactured in our unit and is sent out for manufacturing of gunny bags, hession cloth and hession bags to our sister concern. After processing the same is returned to us after paying conversion charges to them.

Is service tax applicable here to my sister concern (service provider)
Kindly advise me please.

12 November 2011 if your product is exciseable then send for jobwork under notification No.214/1986 by giving undertaking to Commissioner and service tax not applicable.

if your product is not exciseable then service tax applicable on jobwork.
