03 December 2011 Dear Experts,

I am very nervous as i got acknowledgement rejected with status "Filing date has exceeded the Due date".
"DATE OF RECEIPT 30-11-2011"

I had filed my online returns on 31-07-2011, but sent the signed acknowledgement very late.

Please let me know what do i need to file "Revised Returns" ...
...and under what "SECTION".

But manual return should be revised ?
And what section to select ?

04 December 2011 No, it will not be a revised return.
A revised return can be filed when you have filed any Original Return.
As return filed with the CPC is likely to be rejected, so this again will be an Original
. This can be treated as Return U/s 139(4) or belated Return.

07 December 2011 Hi Experts,
I think i need to file Revised Return only (even if my return was rejected "Filing date exceeded the due date" ).

Because when i upload the returns online it says "You have already filed your return, please choose 'Revised' option"

So should i file revised return under section U/s 139(4).

Kindly Advice me...

13 December 2011 Once you have uploaded your return, you cannot upload your return again unless IT IS A REVISED RETURN.

You will have to file a revised return u/s 139(5). There is no other option.

However, revised return can be filed only if the original return was filed before the due date.
You can also contact CPC Bangalore and obtain their advice, but I feel that they will give the same advice.
