ITR-V rejected

Dear Sir,
As per the Income tax dept call center that My ITR-V has been rejected due to late receipt at CPC i.e. on 08-12-2010. Please advise me what i have to do and how. I understand that i have to re-transmit the data, how it could be done, please advise. Is any penalty also be there.

The ITR-V rejected at CPC will make the respective ITR as never been filed.
So, the simple procedure is that the ITR is to be filed as if it is being filed for the first time and since it will be the belated return so only interest u/s 234 will be levied if there is any tax payable.
P.S.: Do consider the facts and figures you filed earlier as any significant alteration will be eye-catching.
