I am a salaried individual. I get HRA & conveyance allowance which is exempt u/s 10.
I have been told that individuals whose income is exempt u/s 10 will file ITR 2.
Is this correct??
Please provide the notification/circular.

Any person whose exempted income u/s 10 exceeding Rs 5000, can not file ITR 1.
Applicable ITR to such person is ITR 2
