A user encountered an error while validating their ITR 3 return, specifically when declaring presumptive income under section 44ADA and short-term capital gains under section 111A. The error message indicated an issue with gross receipts not being mentioned in the profit and loss account or profit being less than 50% of gross receipts. After trying multiple times, the issue was resolved by declaring the income under section 44AD instead of 44ADA, which allowed the return to validate without errors. The user confirmed that this classification was appropriate for their freelancing educational services.

"Income under business and profession is claimed but gross receipts are not mentioned in profit and loss account. OR Profit shown is less than 50% of gross receipts but details of maintenance of the books of accounts and audit report u/s 44AB in Part A-General are not filled up." No data to be added there. As there is error I had to enquire. "" Income under business and profession is claimed but gross receipts are not mentioned in profit and loss account. OR Profit shown is less than 50% of gross receipts ....." This part has been correct........... so why this massage? Retry filling ITR.......
