09 June 2011 sir,
i file my return in ITR 3, i am a partner in a firm which is covered u/s 44AB.but there is no provision in ITR3 to mention that the firm is covered u/s 44AB.as a result when i click "calculate Tax " interest u/s 234A is calculated from august instead of october.

what should i do??

09 June 2011 the option is there where u hav to mention ur firm name.
and are u using any software to fill form itr

09 June 2011 If you are using IT Department software than pl see under Verification in sheet PARTB-T1-TT1 . There is a field named 'Alternate Due Date'. You have to fill this properly then the interest will be calculated properly.

but there is no "Alternate due date" in AY 2010-11, ITR 3.

As mentioned earlier there is a field called Alternate due date just below the date of return under verification section where you have to give your father's name.
