I am from a construction company. We have a project at Madhya pradesh. Our head office is in Chennai, having common TAN number & depositing TDS in Chennai. Assessing office issued notice to open seperate TAN number at Madhya pradesh. Please tell any one whether the AO have the power to issue the notice.

Under which section notice has been issued. generally we can have TAN centralised as one in all India basis
