Is the correct way to file a rectified ITR for already processed and refunded itr?

This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
If you need to file a rectified Income Tax Return (ITR) after your original return has already been processed and a refund issued, it's important to understand the process. Generally, the refund isn't automatically factored into the revised return. You'll likely need to pay any additional tax and interest due before filing. Once the rectified return is processed, the system will reconcile the payments and the refund, ideally resulting in 'no demand, no refund'.

13 December 2024 I am revising my itr that has already been processed and refund is paid to me. Now if I file the rectification, In the tax paid section will the refund show up and i pay the difference or is the refund not going to show and hence I need to pay later?

13 December 2024 Generally, refund doesn't considered while revising return. After processing demand will be raised.

13 December 2024 If you have worked out the amount of tax and interest, if any, payable in consequence of your filing a revised return, then better pay it before filing the return.
It will show the amount paid as refundable but when the return is processed it will take care of and the resultant processing shall be no demand no refund.
