Is re-registration for ca final after lapse of 5 years

24 January 2013 The 5 year period since the day i initially registered for CA final course has lapsed. I have not appeared in last two consecutive attempts ie May 2012 & Nov 2012, though I have cleared GroupI earlier.As per the following decision I need to re-register.

But, when i enquired about the formalities for re-registration at ICAI Hyderabad, I was told that the above decision is not applicable & I don't need to re-register.
I wish to appear in May 2013 attempt for clearing groupII. I am confused whether I need to re-register or not? Please Help.

27 January 2013 contact you council and ask them if your registration is still valid. if thier answer is yes than ok, but if they denies than re-registration is the only choice available
