Can Indian Company (Foreign direct investment is there) invest in mutual funds in india

the ans is yes as there is no restrcition as such

I got some information that in company where FDI is invested that company cannot invest in mutual funds as per new companies act or may be by some circulars issued by Reserve Bank of India.
So is there any reference against for the above ?
