13 December 2011 An intimation under Section 143(1) is not an assessment order, becuase Section 143(1) is PROCESSING OF RETURN and not ASSESSMENT OF RETURN.

An intimation under Section 143(1) is deemed to be a notice of demand under Section 156 as per proviso to Section 156.
