16 June 2011 i have submitted my I.T Return online on 28/02/2011 for the A.Y=2010-2011, with net total income of 802202/-. For which i have deposited advance tax on 17/09/2009 Rs 27000/-, on 12/12/2009 Rs 15000/-, & on 18/03/2010 Rs 90000/-, along with this there is TDS of Rs 32324/-.(Total 164324/-) my consultant has filled my return with tax liability of Rs 159430 which includes penalty of Rs 10430/- for late submission of return & less payment of advance tax. now i want to know whether the above calculation is right. kindly help...

17 June 2011 NO IT IS TOTALLY WRONG.
If you are individual male and not senior citizen than on NET TOTAL TAXABLE INCOME OF Rs. 802202/- and other details as you provided the calculation will be:-

TAX PAYABLE Rs.144661 + Ed. Cess & Sch Cess Rs.4340 + Total Interest Payable Rs.1824

TOTAL TAX & INTEREST PAYABLE Rs.150825/-

so there is a refund of Rs.13499 + Interest

I think now it is clear.
