IF TURNOVER OF A SOLE PROPRIETOR INCREASES FROM 9 LAKHS TO 48 LAKHS WILL IT ATTRACT INCOME TAX SCRUTINY

Generally this is not a criteria for the selection of scrutiny assessment. However,
the assessing officer can select a case with the prior approval of Additional CIT / Joint CIT after recording reasons for doing so. In such cases the approving authorities has to monitor and ensure that, quality assessments are framed in these cases.
