Inadequate refund of income tax

05 January 2016 Dear Expert,

One of our client's refund amount as per ITR for the AY 2014-15 is Rs.1,85,000/-. But he had received the cheque for refund only for Rs.60,000/- No demand is pending from his side for the previous AY. Since the ITR is processed and refund is issued from CPC, the local ITO is saying that he is helpless in this matter (He can't even see the Assessee's ITR). What to do for getting his full refund amount ?

05 January 2016 You check the 143(1) intimation that will be sent from the CPC. The computation as per IT department will be made there. In case you have any mistakes there apply for rectification online. Once rectified you should be able to get your refund.
