10 March 2017 Can someone tell me how to start importing goods. I just have VAT TIN number.

14 March 2017 for importing goods along with TIN number IEC Code (Import Export Code) is also required If not applied given below is full procedure for applying IEC code

Online procedure (Class 2 digital Signature is mandatory) 1. Go to www.dgft.gov.in 2. Click on Online IEC Application under Importer Exporter Code under Quick Links. 3.Enter PAN number and click next 4. Enter mobile number and Mail id (enter these carefully (i.e. which are in working) because every time you will login, OTP is required which you willl receive on you mobile and e-mail) 5. After login fill up Form and upload necessary documents. 6. Digitally sign Form using Class 2 DSC (Form can be signed only in internet explorer 11) and submit online. After Successful Submission you will receive your IEC Code and certificate online within 7 working days. For digitally signing application 1. Internet explorer 11 is required 2. Click on "View Compatability Settings" under Tools. There type 164.100.78.104 and click on Add and close
