Import of Walkie Talkie

Hello ,
I am from Assam . I want to import two UHF 5 WATT Walkie talkies from CHINA . I do not have a import license as the items are for my personal use within my house and for trekking and outdoor activities outside the city . The total value of the walkie talkies is not more than 70 $ . Do I need a license to import walkie talkies ? Also , the local store here told that no license is required to operate walkie talkie sets as long as they are used with care , responsibility and in private . Also , what is the customs duty levied on two way radios ?

as per current foreign trade policy,para 2.8(iii) a person is not require of IEC if he is importing for personal use , .
u are request to please provide the itc hs code no. so that i prompt reply you .

Dear Mr. Verma ,
My query is not on the IEC as I am fully aware that I do not need it for importing items for personal use . I am asking about the license required for importing Wirelss Equipment into India ( DIfferent from IEC ) . And it is good news if I do not need license to import just a pair of walkie talkies .
