how can we get a import & export code?

Apply online or off line in form ANF 2A to the concerned Joint Director General of Foreign Trade of your region.
Government fee Rs. 250/- has to be paid by demand draft.
Documents to be attached with the above form are:-
1) copy of PAN card.
2) date of birth proof if applicant is individual.
3) copy of partnership deed if applicant is firm.
4) copy of certificate of incorporation if applicant is company.
5) copy of memorandum of association & articles of association is applicant is company.
6) consent letter of all partners / trustees if applicant is firm / trust.
7) list of partners / directors/ trustees.
8) resolution of the board of directors if applicant is company.
9) copy of RBI approval if there is non resident interest.
10) copy of rent agreement if business premises is not owned by applicant.
11) copy of the latest building tax receipt of the above.
12) copy of trade licence issued by the municipality / corporation/ panchayath.
(All the above attachment should be self attested.)
13)Two photograph (3 X 3 cm size) of the applicant.
14) Self addressed Rs. 30 stamped envelope (11 x 5 cm).
15) certificate from bank in the format given along with ANF 2A form
This should be submitted in the office of the Jt Dir Gen of Foreign Trade along with a covering letter in a paper file of White / Brown colour.
