24 June 2017 can a child become member in grandfather huf and also in father huf?
can grandfather huf pay ppf and tuition fee of grandson for the purpose of 80c?

24 June 2017 if grand father's HUF is divided. then grand son can NOT become member of larger HUF. He can be the member of Father's HUF

27 June 2017 HUF....Hindu Undivided Family
The family is undivided and hence taxed as separate legal entity under income tax.....
Although as per Hindu law, partial partition is allowed, as per income tax act partial partition is not recognised.
Once the HUF where grandfather is Karta gets divided (partitioned) totally, grandson goes into father's HUF.

27 June 2017 grandfather huf is not divided but father has separate huf. now whether the grandson is member in both hufs?

27 June 2017 As per income tax,partial partition is not allowed.....since your query is for 80C....the grandfather HUF can NOT have grandson as member if father is having separate HUF....
