27 April 2010 can i claim HRA and Interest on housing loan, i stayed in rented house till Feb 2010 by that time house was under construction. In march 2010 i occupied that house for selt occupation, can i claim Interest on housing loan for the period April 2009 to March 2010. and HRA April to Feb 2010

27 April 2010 You can claim HRA april to feb 2010. and Interest of pre-construction & pre-acquisiton period period is allowed in five equal annual instalment commencing from the previous year in which these is acquired or constructed.

i.e you can claim 1/5 of interest paid before acquistion in FY 2009-10.
