03 March 2012 Please guide me whether rent paid for both places i.e. for the place where my family is staying and for me the place of posting (service) can be taken for gating exemption in case of HRA received for both the places.

03 March 2012 You can claim the exemption against the rent being paid for the residential flat which is nearest to your place of employment and where you used to generally reside. For both the places you can not claim HRA exemption.
