I write articles for tech sites and get paid for the same. I have no specific expenditure against the income. How can I adjust my personal expenses like fooding travelling shopping etc.

The personal expenses cant be deducted from income. The expenditure incurred wholly and exclusively for purpose of the business/profession can be deducted.
