24 July 2013 One employee is paying monthly rent of Rs 10000 per month and he also have receipt for the same. But the employer does not recognize the proof of rent which the employee is producing and hence he is not allowing any exemption of HRA. you are suggersted to advice is it enough to submit rent reciept along with stamp to claim hra exemption ? or is it necessary to produce rent agreement by the employee...?

24 July 2013 IF HE SUBMITS ALL THE RECEIPTS THE EMPLOYER SHOULD CONSIDER THE SAME AND CAN ALLOW THE BENEFIT.
.
WHAT IS PROBLEM IN OBTAINING THE RENT AGREEMENT. CONSULT ANY ADVOCATE. HE WILL MANAGE.
.
GENERALLY, SUCH PROBLEMS MAY HAVE INDIRECT REASONS. EMPLOYER'S SATISFACTION MAY BE THE
MAIN REASON.
.
IF HRA HAS BEEN SHOWN IN FORM 16, EMPLOYEE CAN CLAIM EXEMPTION WHILE FILING HIS RETURN.
.

24 July 2013 actually the employee can not submit the rent agreement because the land lord id not ready but still he has the proof of all recipts a;ong with stamp and sign of landlord .but the employer insisit him to produce rent agreement . can he claim exemption ?
