09 July 2013 I am a Service Receiver (Mr A - Inidividual) and i am paying freight charges on transport of goods to Service Provider (GTA - both Company & Individual). My query is would i be elegible for payment of Service Tax under Reverse Charge Mechanism ?
if Yes, from what date should i pay service tax as i have started my business from 2005

Person liable to freight is liable to pay service tax on GTA if he is body corporate, factory, registered dealer under Central excise, society, cooperative society, partnership firm (registered or not).

So if you are not in above category..GTA comes liable to pay service tax on GTA reversecharge

So ascertain where you comes in

10 July 2013 Body cororte,factory, reg dealer under excise,society, co-op society, firm of partners if are liable to Pay frieght then needs to pay ser tax.

Else you need to pay ser tax.
