The course can be taken by a student during the last 12 months of articled/audit training while undergoing Final Course but before applying for the membership of the Institute. The objective is to equip the entrants to the profession with some essential skills, such as – • General management and business communication skills; • Presentation skills; • Group discussion skills; • Inter-personal skills; • Legal document preparation skills; • Become more confident and capable of using the knowledge gained while doing the chartered accountancy course; • Increase in the level of awareness of management theory and practice with the ultimate aim of self-development; and • Providing opportunities for personal interaction with fellow students by sharing experiences and for interaction with senior members of the profession and management;
The course would, inter alia, aim at developing the habit of reading with the enhanced capacity of comprehension.
The requirement of compulsory attendance in this course will apply to articled/audit assistant: • who has passed the Final Examination, in its entirety under the new syllabus specified by the Council under Regulation 31 of the CA Regulations, 1988;
Even if a candidate passes one of the groups of the Final Examination held in November 2002 and thereafter (other group having been passed earlier), he is compulsorily required to undergo and complete the course; • who has passed Intermediate/Professional Education (Examination-II)/Professional Competence Examination; and • who has passed IPCE under the new scheme of education and training.

The students are required to pay the prescribed fees for undergoing the course.
The Board of Studies issues a background material for the course which a student should thoroughly study before undergoing the course.
