can anyone clarify the concept the service tax on freight inward.I wanna know in detail all the concept of service tax on good transport agency.

Service tax is payable on the goods and services transported from one place to other and that includes freight inward as well as outward. When it is freight inward then you pay for it and when it is freight outward you charge for it provided you have the transpiration business. Otherwise when you pay service tax debit it to separate account and when you charge service tax you adjust with whatever service tax is paid. This is called set off and pay the balance by filing the quarterly returns or as prescribed by the act. You have been given link here in above. Kindly go through the same also.
