GAR-7 challan is used for payment of excise duty and service tax. Earlier TR-6 was used for the same purpose.

TR 6 was the challan form to pay service tax upto March,2007. From April,2007 onwards instead of TR 6 challan GAR 7 has to be necessarily used to pay service tax.
