filing of revised return online

05 July 2011 dear all,

i have a e return,there is some mistake and i want to file a revised return,plz guide me of fiing of e return,thru incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in website

name of father was written wrongly
there was no column for revised return

plz urgent

Some doubt regarding again
in rectification panel it is asking cpc no and date even the reutrn is not posted to dept for refund,

and is it important to file revised return for wrongly written of father name and state name in address

plz resolve

05 July 2011 If you have written wrong name of your father it hardly matters. In fact return is revised if there is any mistake in income returned by you. Mistake in your fathers name is nothing but a technical fault and for which no action can be taken. If you want to revise your return then you open your account and there is a provision for rectification. If you so desire the same form which you uploaded can be copied and after rectification it can be uploaded but in that case on the first page you have to click revised return.

06 July 2011 name/address/state/fathers name etc data is retrived from PAN database, so you dont have to revise your return on mere these grounds. it would get auto corrected at the time of intimation.
