filing of ITR-V

02 June 2009 If assessee is of Other State(Rajasthan) and we are filing his e-return in Punjab then can we file his ITR-V in Punjab for acknowledgement. I Want to know in E-filing return Address of the assesse is of Rajasthan and the Acknowledgement in ITR-V,

Can we submit ITR-V of Rajasthan Address in Punjab(means to say any state)

02 June 2009 In the situation cited ITR V should be mailed to Income tax department CPC ,Post box no-1,Electronic city post office, Bangalore-560100 and not in Punjab or Rajasthan. For more details read CBDT Circular 03/2009 dated 21/5/2009 more particularly Paragraph-10.

02 June 2009 Now as per circular 03/21.05.09 , the Form ITR-V is bar-coded, assessee is advised not to fold the same and post in A4 size envelope to the Income-tax Department by mailing it to Income Tax Department CPC, Post Box No - 1, Electronic City Post Office, Bangalore - 560100, Karnataka within thirty days after the date of transmitting the data electronically.
