filing of I.T. return of NRI

Dear experts
My friend is NRI working with US company
He has drawn a salary of $11067 during the F.Y. 2009-2010 he do not have any salary certificate but he has Statement of Wages issued by the company mentioning the monthly salary drawn by him. Now he told me to file his IT return in india he also sent me duly signes ITR-1 to me
Now pl. tell me how to file this return & how much tax he has to pay & how much income i have to mentioned in the form pl. give me the complete guidance to file his return and also he is leaving on rental basis & paying monthly rent of Rs.12000/-
so is he got any deduction for this rent?

If your friend was working for more than 182 days in US then he becomes non resident and he shall be only liable to tax for income accruing or arising in India.
So kindly check income received or accruing in India.
