filing a return for prior period

15 March 2011 I applied for PAN card on 19-08-2010 and received the same on 15-09-2010. Can i file income tax return for assessment year 2009-2010??

Also i opened a bank account in my name on 19-09-2010.

Please respond.

15 March 2011 you can file IT return for AY 2009-10 also. PAN allotment date will not effect your returns
