Filed returnu/s 44ab without paying tax

30 September 2012 dear sir
on 30.09.2012 i have filed one tax audit return u/s 44AB without
paying self asst tax as banks were not working ie 30th being sunday.

and i tried to pay through net banking of my account in corp.bank but today they have also closed as half yearly closing.

Tommarow ie on 1st oct 12 i will pay self asst tax.

Now I want to know whther i have to file revised return with self asst tax detils or
just keep quiet until i receive notice of demand from deptt.?

and

am i liable for int u/s 234B for the month of october12.?(as 30th being sunday)

kindly suggest me what to do?

01 October 2012 It is better to file revise the return with self assessment tax details to avoid future consequences.

As far as Interest U/s 234B, I think U are not liable for interest since the 30.09.2012 being holiday (Sunday) and Banks are closed for Half yearly closing for accounts.

Just check the interest computation in Income tax Utility software whether it is considered the holiday while revising the return for payment of self assessment tax after due date.

02 October 2012 thanks i also contacted cpc blore they advised me to file revised return and told me that i neen not pay int for the month of octobe 12.as 30th being sunday.once again thanks for good advise
