Exemption vs aggregate

08 August 2018 Suppose a person applied for only group-1 of ca final exams and got 90 marks (Exemption) in FR and failed in remaining subjects.
Next attempt he applied for both groups, the following are the marks obtained.
paper-1 = 90E
paper-2 = 50
paper-3 = 40
paper-4 = 40
Total =220

paper-5 = 50
paper-6 = 50
paper-7 = 40
paper-8 = 40
Total = 180

Is set off possible for the extra 20 marks in group-1 against group-2

09 August 2018 Yes, you get the benefit of set off of surplus when you appear in both group.
