09 March 2013 Sir/Madam,
I have cleared my IPCC both groups in Nov'11. I started my articleship on 21/02/2012, but then i terminated my article ship on 03/01/2013 and registered with other CA on 09/03/2013. Am i still eligible for Nov'14 attempt. Please Help.

09 March 2013 Those who completed two and half year of their articleship training as on the first day of the exams commencing months(including excess leaves if any) are eligible to write the exams. In other words those who are servicing last six months of the articleship training period including excess leaves if any as on the first day of the exams commencing months are eligible to write exams.

Thus to get the eligibility for November 2014 final exams for you. You should be completed your 2 and half years of articleship training period as on 1-11-2014 i.e required to complete 30 months training period including excess leaves if any.

Now compute the total completion of training period of you as on 1-11-2014 assuming no excess leaves.

Your training period from 21/02/2012 to 02/01/2013 i.e completed 10 months 12 days upto termination and from 9/3/2013 to 31/10/2014 i.e completing 19 months 22 days from the date of re-joining into articleship till the date of required eligibility.

Thus total articleship training completing by you as on 1-11-2014 is 30 months 4 days. To get the eligibility to exams required 30 months articleship training period completion. So assuming you haven't any excess leaves then you are eligible to November 2014 Final attempt.

09 March 2013 Hi

As per Regulation 50 of the CA Regulation, a student will be eligible to appear in final attempt after completing of 2 and half year (30 months) of article ship.

In your case, the period of 30 months is not completed before October 31, 2014 so you will be not eligible for Nov, 2014 attempt but u will be eligible for May, 2015 attempt.

09 March 2013 Thank you sir Dintakurthi,

Sir up till now i have only taken 17 leaves, that means if i do not exceed 156 days of leaves (I.e.156-17=139 from now)i am eligible to attempt in Nov'14?

Am i Wrong?

And Ajay sir,
as per Dintakurthi sir's calculation i am convinced to his answer. But if you are right, can you explain me why will i not complete my 30 months of articleship before 1st nov'14.

Thank you both for your Precious Reply.

09 March 2013 Yes, you are correct regarding your leaves calculation.
