When does DTC come into effect A.Y? Whether its effective for A.Y 2012-2013 or 2013-2014.
Pls. clarify and guide us.

As per the budget Speech Given by FM Mr. Pranab Mukherji, DTC will be Applicable From A.Y. 2013-2014

DTC WILL BE APPLICABLE FROM 01/04/2012.

We understand that FM Speech referring to 1st April 2012 is meant for the A.Y 2012-2013 (i.e. a year ending 31-03-2012)are we correct?

No. 1st April 2012 is meant for the Financial Year 2012-2013. Assessment YEar will be 2013-2014
