Can a house be purchased in the name of a company???

No. But can be like " ABC Ltd represented by its Managing Director Mr./ Ms. X(hereinaftr caller the "purchaser").

No it can't be purchased in the name of the company but it can be purchased in the name of the directors of the company representing the company.
