08 October 2013 An individual paid 78000 rs as fees in college for his sons education who is doing engineering, can we claim all the above amount as deduction???

08 October 2013 This deduction in respect of college fees is covered under Section 80C of the I-T Act.
A parent can claim a deduction of payment made for tuition fee to any university, college, school or any other educational institution.
The deduction on payments made towards tuition fee can be claimed up to Rs 100,000..

Other than that like hostel accommodation,food will not not consider while claimming deduction.
