Deduction benifite

Sir, Pls. help me, one of my friend both wife and husband is earning person. Now the problem is that my friend has taken a policy in which he is proposer but insured is her wife .Now my question is that the deduction (u/s 80)benifite can avail by the wife or not?

the benefit can be availed by the person who paid the premium. So husband should claim the benefit in this case.
