receipt date and clearing date mentioned in challan by bank.then receipt date.

11 May 2010 Date of EPF 15th of next month and date of ESI 16th of next month. 5 days grace period is available for both.
i.e cheque should be clear in case of epf 20th & Esi 21st .

In epf/ESIC challan the bank entered the date which is beyond the date of clearing of cheque by 2 or 3 days .What will be the date for I Tax purpose -challan date or clearing date .You have answered bank date.What is the meaning of bank date -Challan date or clearing date

12 May 2010 Date of clearing should be before 21st or 20th ie. Clearing date is to be considered for IT purpose.
