claiming adjustment of excess tax paid

we have a client who has paid excess service tax in the 2nd half of f.y 2009-10 wrongly can he claim the adjustment of the excess amount of tax paid in the first half of f.y. 2010-11 by revising the return ? plz reply as early as possible. Thanx in advance
