What is the difference between both.
if I have one kid...and I have paid 5000/- in the year on his education. how will I show it in tax computation?
will I get 1200/- as Edu. Allowance & 5000/- can be shown under tution fee (80C)?

Children Education Allowance : It is received from the employer
If you are in receipt of such allowance from your employer and you really have a school going child you can certainly claim within the prescribed limits.

Tuition Fee : It is paid by youself and can be claimed U/s 80C.

Both can be claimed.

one of my friend have a school going kid and he receive 2400 edu. allowance from his employer.
he has paid around 5000/- on his education.
it means during his tax computation he will get exemption on 1200/- as edu. allowance + 5000/- as tution fee u/s 80C...m i right sir?

Even though the reply was supposed to be given in respect of your kid, yet the same stands good for your good friend also.
