26 January 2014 An enterprise purchases packing material on which excise duy is charged. Is enterprise eligible to avail cenvat credit if the packing material purchased is at a plant at which no manufacturing takes place?

29 January 2014 Only manufacturer will take the cenvat credit and he should pay the duty on final products.

31 January 2014 Thanks for reply, The enterprise is a manufacturer of domestic appliances but uses one of the plant as a goddamn for storing goods manufactured at which packing material is purchased?
Can u give more light to this....Thanks!!
