Cash gift to son/daughter/son in law/daughter in law

08 November 2013 I want to know whether a person having agricultural income ( a senior citizen in particular also retired from services ) can gift any sum in cash to his/her son/daughter/son in law/daughter in law by declaring simply on a plian paper ? or requires a stamp paper ?
Is there any other solution too of the similar problem better known to professionals ?
