14 February 2011 dear experts!

i m working as an accountant in a small logistics company(Visakhapatnam) as an accountant and i want to do accounting technician course running by ICAI .After completing this what will be my position in the market.

please suggest side books for CPT Exams for all 4 papers

14 February 2011 Regarding ATC Course you have to under go for one years articleship. ICAI not allows job with articleship, so you have to leave your job for atlest 1 years.

according to me ICWA or CS is batter option for you if you dont want to leave youre job. after passing cwa or cs you will be in more batter sistituation.
your job experiance will be count and cwa/cs article ship will be exempt. it is my advice only. last decision is yours.

14 February 2011 But, I have read somewhere on internet that for ATC Course only 1 year of articleship is compulsory. I m little bit confused so, if u don't mind please discuss with ur friends & colegues, and den please suggest me once again.

14 February 2011 A candidate may opt for Accounting Technician Course. Such a candidate has to undergo a study course of nine months, 35 hours Orientation Programme and 100 hours Information Technology Training before appearing in Accounting Technician Examination (ATE). It is to be noted that Group I of IPCC is equivalent to ATC. After passing ATE, he will also be required to complete 12 months of work experience and on production of a certificate to this effect he will be issued Accounting Technician Certificate. A candidate who does not wish to complete erstwhile Intermediate/PE-II/PCC/IPCC can opt for ATC.

15 February 2011 ICAI study material is more then enough for getting good marks in CPT.
