06 September 2010 Suppose if you have purchased 10 shares of company "A" @ 250/- per share.

After few months... the prices fell & you have sell the shares @ 225/- per share.

here you have incurred a loss of Rs. 25/- per share i.e total 250/-

This loss is capital loss.

The above is only one example.
