20 December 2013 you can get its purchase date from your agent or broker...you can have the duplicate transaction copy from the broker...with that, the amount of purchase with date will be known to you

21 December 2013 if it is 1982, you dont have to worry anyways. whatever the capital gain might be it is exempt from taxation!

21 December 2013 even if you assume Zero price, still no tax liability arise. Even BSE doesnt offer prices before 1990. So just consider the whole of the income as capital gains which is anyways exempt from tax.
