CAN SERVICE TAX IMPOSED ON ENTIRE RENT AMOUNT

15 September 2010 Dear Sir,
During my Internal Audit course, It is observed that Service Tax charged @ 10.3% on entire rent amount for commercial property. But as per my knowledge "Rent" not cover under Service Tax Category. Now I am confuse, Please guide for Service Tax charged on entire amount, whether it is correct or not.
