03 April 2016 It would depend on which profession you intend to practice, i.e., either as a Chartered Accountant or Cost Accountant. Note, you can not hold certificate of Practice of both Institutes, you need to select any one of it.

For a member intending to work in industry again it would depend on type of opportunity he / she gets. Manufacturing units with CMA qualification along with CA would be advantageous, as one person holding both qualifications, would help management, in case they need services of CMA or CA separately, they need to hire another head count.

Even service sector you will find the same type of scenario. A dual qualification at times could be decisive for the management in hiring person with just double qualification than single qualification, subject to many other factors viz., experience, academic track record, practical knowledge, culture, soft skills, leadership qualities, age, salary package etc.
