Whether it is compulsory,whether it is counted as articleship, what are its criteria, objectives, is it more popular(do more students after 24 months of articleship tend to join industrial training rather than continuing the same articleship)etc?

I have passed the Inter exams during 1996-97
I got an overseas employment oppurtunity and returned to India after five years. I did join for the final course upon my retrun but could not appear for the exams

Kindly advise whether I am still eligible to complete my CA course and if yes then when can I appear for the exams.
